I am the lefthanded eldest daughter of a storyteller and a mountain woman.
Descendent of recently Irish, Scottish, English
German, and French settlers of the northeast Americas
I was born in the Massachusett homelands in 1988
and have lived all my life somewhere along the mother called Atlantic
I write poems, books, and songs
tend soil + plants, and facilitate ritual
and I am a Masters of Divinity candidate
at Union Theological Seminary in upper Manhattan.
My work is in collaboration with medicine plants, fellow artists
Ocean, Mountain
and the wise and radiant Dead.
Collective liberation
from cycles of extraction and domination
racial healing through embodied
self-awareness
and subversive interspecies collusion
among rebels
is the symphonic future
towards which I joyfully offer my gifts.
I honor the ones who made me
and raised me,
and give thanks for the teachers who help me find my work.
In tending the birth/death portal
my practice is especially guided by the teachings of
Shafia Monroe, Daniel Foor and the Ancestral Medicine Network,
Mama Claudia Ford, Deb Soule,
Shambhavi Sarasvati, Mooji
Thich Nhat Hanh,
Liz Brown, Rob Brown-Lavoie, and many other wise humans,
plants,
and powers of Earth and Sky.
